Race report
After the first three sterrati, the peloton is still together when Tibor Del Grosso, Martin Marcellusi, Jack Haig, Patrick Konrad, Samuele Zoccarato, Adrien Boichis, Anders Foldager and Tim Rex go on the attack. The group of nine quickly builds a lead of 2 minutes.

Through the day’s longest sector, San Martino in Grania, the gap falls below 30 seconds. On the following sector, Monte Sante Marie, with roughly 84 kilometres remaining, they go down. UAE Emirates asserts itself at the front, reducing the peloton to only Tadej Pogacar, Isaac del Toro, Jan Christen, Paul Seixas, Jordan Labrosse, Paul Lapeira, Romain Grégoire, Tom Pidcock and Matteo Jorgenson.

Pogacar powers away on the steepest ramps of Monte Sante Marie, leaving everyone behind. Seixas tries everything to keep up, but the world champion gradually extends his lead. He then reaches the tarmac 25 seconds ahead of Seixas and Del Toro, while Grégoire, Pidcock and Jorgenson trail a further half a minute behind.

The two groups merge later on, and at 58 kilometres from the finish they are joined by Ben Healy and Andreas Kron. Soon after, Jan Christen, Pello Bilbao, Paul Lapeira, Michael Valgren, Clément Braz Afonso, Quinn Simmons, Gianni Vermeersch, Mauri Vansevenant and Wout van Aert also bridge across.

Pogacar’s advantage peaks at 2 minutes, while Christen, Del Toro, Seixas, Grégoire, Pidcock and Vermeersch shed the rest of the group on the first ascent of Le Tolfe.

On the second and final ascent of Colle Pinzuto, Seixas attacks, with Del Toro glued to his wheel.

Meanwhile, Pogacar wraps up his monstrous solo, coasting to a record-breaking victory. No rider in history has ever won Strade Bianche four times.
